Simple views on a complicated world.

In database engeneering there is a concept called "view" that abstracts from the details of a couple of tables in order to provide a quickly reachable simplified version of the data.

With humans this is called prejudice. However, with humans this is not regarded in the same way. If you look at the history of racism, gay right movements, feminism and religious tolerance, prejudices were the root of all evil.

However, I think views have become some sort of tabu. If you state your opinion on a simple matter such as "Italian women are beautiful", "music in the 90th was terrible, don't you think" or "Eastern Germany does not have a real economy" you face social reproach. You are considered simple or even non-intellectual.

The problem is that the whole relativity-theory, the education that teaches us to look at a topic from different angles etc. have created an atmosphere of mistrust in views that has lead to the following:

- we don't have discussions on real topics anymore. The only safe areas to talk about are fiction or very strong views the whole society shares (like hating Trump or being against Nazis)

- we don't share political views anymore. They are too risky to talk about

- there is no such thing anymore as a gentlemen. Being decisive in opinions as well as in action which could be discussed holding a glass of scotch: Ain't happening.

Taking all the above into consideration: We are loosing something here trying to juggle all the facts, all the views, all the possible implications fearing to disagree, to provoke or to question the established ways.

I really hate this climate of freedom to believe in whatever you want but not being allowed to say it out loud, even if it is about music in the 90th.
